Typhoon Haiyan Victims: They Need OUR Help

I spoke too soon I guess... I didn't expect to see really horrifying things unfold. But I still know in my heart that Filipinos are true strong survivors.

#YolandaPH #HaiyanPH has only begun to reveal itself. The havoc it has wreaked on a lot of the affected cities is unbelievable and very depressing. So if there is a way for us all to help in every possible way we can,
 let's help.

The vicious typhoon that raged through the center of the Philippines appears to have now killed thousands. Most of the deaths appear to have been caused by surging sea water strewn with debris that many described as similar to a tsunami, which levelled houses and drowned people. Nearby islands and tourist spots also got hit by the disaster, which includes Coron, Palawan and Bantayan Island Cebu.

Philippine officials were also reportedly struggling this Sunday to distribute aid to survivors left homeless and destitute.

The situation is like what you would see in some destruction or zombie themed movies, where people would go to desperate looting just to survive. There is looting in the malls and large supermarkets. Survivors are taking everything even appliances like TV sets that may be later traded for food.

I try to avoid watching the news because it really is just heartbreaking that this is happening to our country. But I have no choice! I can't help it. I don't know how to describe what I saw... but it's really horrifying...

The storm weakened Sunday to 101 mph, with gusts of 170, as it speeds toward Vietnam, where it is expected to land by Monday morning. More than half a million people have been evacuated there. Praying for the saftey of those who will be affected by this typhoon's wrath.

Wishing everyone a quick recovery. My deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and to those who suffered this horrible disaster.
