Must-Eats in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

You may have been fully satisfied with the things you've seen in the area, but though shall not forget that you've got a belly famished by your itchy feet. You need to reload for your next adventure.

So, I've got you guys a list of places I've been to. Places to satiate yourselves and a chance to take on exotic delicacies! These, are "for me" not to miss restaurants and food places in Puerto Princesa. You ready? This can become uh little... nasty. ha ha

BADJAO Seafront Restaurant

Price Range: P95-P600

You might want to ask your tricycle driver to wait or come back for you after eating, coz it's going to be quite a long walk back to the main road. Unless you're the type of person who would go for some cardio and is willing to march with a full belly.

Anyway, this is located along Abueg St. and is basically perched on a mangrove swamp and is fairly high class in terms of service and table settings.

You'll go gnawing on whole Grilled Fish and other seafood. A bit pricey though, but the food is great. Eating by the sea, looking to the sky, breathing fresh air... Ahh, very relaxing. Love this place.

KALUI

Price Range: P130-P500

Oh I so "heart" the ambiance! Its like you're in a Balinese Resto. You take your shoes off (go barefoot - make sure to have clean and nice smelling feet! ha ha) at the door and relax in beautiful surroundings. The food is good and the service was just OK. If you are expecting a lot of smiles and fast service then you may be in the wrong place. I'm not sure though if that happens all the time, but I guess there were too many foreign tourists for them to prioritize that time... just saying! But then again, the place is great!

You have to try their Eel in Coco cream which is heavenly delicious. I also ordered the “Kalui Special of the Day”; which consists of Fish Steak, Prawns, Vegetables, Rice, and another dish I can't seem to recall and of course, the very intriguing Palawan Seafood sisig (I so loved it!!!)

Don't forget to make reservations as they get "routinely" packed during meal times.

KINABUCHs Bar and Grill

Price Range: P35-P350

Another famous restaurant in #Puerto Princesa is this stylish and unique restaurant that offers a fusion of mouth watering dishes and fresh seafood. They serve Croc meat (from their crocodile farm - I'm not even sure if I should mention this here... anyway) and also Tamilok which became so popular after being featured in TLC’s Bizarre Food with Andrew Zimmern (during his trip to the Philippines sampling exotic food in Palawan).

Crocodile Dish! It's actually Yummy!
Tamilok: Original Recipe! Kinilaw!
Tamilok: Breaded Version
There goes that wormy dish...
Tamilok, known as “wood worms” or mangrove mollusks... tastes like oysters. You can have it fried/breaded or just eat them the "Palawan" way... soaked in vinegar and a few spices.

The life of this bar and resto gets summoned at night coz it has this big open bar look where you can dine either inside or outside. You will also see a big projector that shows sports. People come here to drink, play billiards, drink and try out the Palawan delicacy.

With that said, the place gets pretty jampacked at night so might as well be there early and if you want to try the croc dish (which surprisingly goes out of stock), have it pre-ordered!

Definitely a must-visit when you're in #Puerto Princesa!

Okay! So... with that said. I challenge you! Take a photo of yourself (or a video) as proof that you've munched and ate that gooey mollusk! ha ha. I want to see your wormy moment! :)

Oh goodness!
