Burot Beach 2015 in Calatagan, Batangas - Weekend Warrior Mode

UPDATE: Burot Beach is still open to the public as of October 8, 2015

Here's an EASY do-it-yourself travel itinerary to Burot Beach. Surprisingly, It's close to the highly busy metro so a weekend getaway is really possible. You can go any day with the absence of harsh sea conditions for a boat travel and delayed or cancelled flight worries. Well, there's still traffic. Nuff said :)

Expenses? Cost? Well, you'll be surprised as to how budget friendly this trip is going to be. I suggest you... Read!

Bluewater Resort Sumilon - I.M.H.O.

In my honest opinion...

Well, before that! This trip was actually part of our 3 day trip to Cebu. We decided to book a day tour after visiting the whalesharks in Tam-Awan and adventure at Aguinid Falls. With the photos that we've been seeing about the island resort, our hopes were really high. And we really wanted to have it as our all day relaxation.

Guimaras Island - The Ever Peaceful Island

Guimaras is a place where you can relax and enjoy the picturesque beaches, islets and all sorts of flora. It is rung with undiscovered beaches and great snorkel spots. One of the smallest islands in the Philippines and the primary route to get here is through Iloilo. 15 mins motorboat from Ortiz wharf in downtown Iloilo City.
It is an island known for it's mangoes and mangroves. It was also reported that the mangoes served in the White House and Buckingham Palace comes from #Guimaras. A great way to be internationally known! Weee!

Dinagyang Festival 2016 - Merry Making at the Start of the Year!

It has been a yearly ritual and custom for me to visit Iloilo and cover the Dinagyang Festival activities. I don't really  know, maybe because it's one of the most colorful and really rocking festivals in the country. From the tribal drum beats, to flamboyant props and costumes and stunning choreography and acts. The performers never stray from tradition and they ensure that the feast is joyously celebrated for their patron. [Read More]

How to Get to Iloilo for the Dinagyang Festivities 2016

Evocative history, wealthy heritage, religious devotion and happy and loving attitude of the Ilonggos is the perfect illustration of the Dinagyang Festival. The resounding shout and noise of "Viva Sr. Sto Nino" and powerful sound of drums makes the celebration more lively and at the same time enchanting. If you would like to be part of this wonderful and fun-filled event, start making your hotel reservations and book you flights to Iloilo City, Philippines.

Whaleshark Experience in Oslob, Cebu - If They Could Only Speak

The trip to the south of Cebu going to Oslob city normally takes 3-4 hours depending on what time of the day you'll be leaving Cebu City and if you'll be taking the public transport. Since I was joined by colleagues, and most of them are willing to pay extra for the private van rent, [Read More]

Bohol Python Sanctuary and Mini-Zoo

Prony the preserved Python
This was one of the stops for my Bohol day tour and I was starting to feel my stomach grumble as we were on our way. Left Cebu City to Tagbilaran at 6am and arrived 2 hours after via Oceanjet.

Tagbilaran, Bohol - That Restroom though!

That Famous Restroom
I was welcomed by “Kuya”. I can’t remember his name coz of the excitement to explore the province and I really wanted to get in the car since the sun was already up and I feel all icky… I needed some freshening up. Kuya handed the goodies immediately but it wasn’t enough, I had to clean myself for the days’ selfies. [...]

White Beach! Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol

So my flight got rescheduled. And I’m soooo Happy!!! I get to stay another night in Bohol. This only means one thing… a trip to Panglao! OH YEAH!!!

Happy boy selfie
Rare that it happens when someone gets all excited due to a cancelled or rescheduled flight. Well, I think it’s only good when you’re just a few kilometers away from a tourist destination, especially when that destination is a

Exploring Bohol in ONE Day!!! WARNING: LONG POST

I was really surprised during my visit. I didn’t think that I’d be experiencing a lot of things in Bohol. This visit was part of my 2015 Sinulog Festival participation. After the Sinulog grand parade, I was already preparing for sidetrips in Cebu. The day after the parade I was bound for Oslob, but I was informed that the travel time is approximately 4 hours and I might not (be allowed) see the whalesharks by the time I get there since they’ve implemented strict visiting/touring hours. So, scrubbed Oslob for now, there’s still Bantayan and Malapascua… my budget… I did some math and it would seem to be a waste if I only stayed for one night. Guess I’ll just have to visit again for a “strictly” Cebu only trip covering all 3 destinations.

I’m left with no choice, but to check my map and look for other places I can visit that won’t be eating so much of my time and budget BUT still getting the most out of the trip and enjoying it.  Well, Hello Bohol!

I’ve wanted to visit this place because of its heritage churches and the ever famous Chocolate hills (remembering my preschool years)

Panagbenga Festival 2015, Baguio City

The Panagbenga is annually celebrated in Baguio City whereas the opening is always the 1st of February and closing is the 3rd of March, though normally it closes on the Sunday of the first week of March.

It will be all up to you if you'd like to stay that long, but I'd prefer seeing the main events since I can't really be out of office that long... gotta work you know
