Bluewater Resort Sumilon - I.M.H.O.

In my honest opinion...

Well, before that! This trip was actually part of our 3 day trip to Cebu. We decided to book a day tour after visiting the whalesharks in Tam-Awan and adventure at Aguinid Falls. With the photos that we've been seeing about the island resort, our hopes were really high. And we really wanted to have it as our all day relaxation.

We booked our trip online thru http://www.bluewatersumilon.com.ph and selected the day tour package.

And so, my review. The day tour rate is just right for the things they offer. The island resort is at a great location with a nice view, but we were hoping for more. The sandbar we see in the photos... well, it depends if it's habagat or amihan. I can't recall what the lifeguard communicated to us as to when the actual sandbar surface. But when we arrived, there was no sand bar. So we just went snorkeling and swam towards the marine sanctuary. The beach has fine cream sand and clear blue waters. Just wear protective footwear because some pieces of coral and rocks get washed up ashore.

Lunch. I enjoyed it! I love their Spicy Gambas! I think I devoured 3 sets of that dish and just chomped on fresh fruits. When it comes to food, as long as it's a buffet setting, I'm happy. No complaints.

A lot of things to see but my expectations of the island weren't fully met. The trekking trail, uphill are stacks of sharp rocks and dead corals - make sure to wear protective and durable footwear. The trek will lead you to stops where you can take photos of the island's scenery/view and you will also be led to the islands' light house (really old lighthouse and a few ruins - creepy). It took us 1 hour to finish the trek.

We went back to the resort's pool area. It was okay. I just noticed that some parts of the pool had stains. But it didn't really bother me. We just spent the rest of our stay there swimming and sprawling.

Food and beverage... expect that its overpriced due to limited resources they have on the island and transporting these goods to and from the resort. 1 bottle of beer costs Php140.00 and a glass of mango juice is Php270.00. So make sure you have enough cash if you plan on purchasing goodies and essentials on the island. Or better yet, prepare and bring your own stuff before heading to Sumilon.
