Aguinid Falls - A Surprising Waterfall Adventure in Oslob, Cebu

Me and some friends went there as an alternative for the Tumalog Falls trip that was part of our Whaleshark experience tour. Our tour was about to become Php120.00 cheaper because Tumalog Falls wasn't accessible that time due to an undergoing renovation. So I was like, "What are they renovating there?"

Of course, I didn't want to end the day with just watching and swimming with the sharks. I asked our tour guide if there was another spot that we can visit in replacement for Tumalog. She suggested that we could visit Aguinid Falls. That's the first time I heard of it, I don't recall chancing posts about that specific spot, but do we have a choice? Might as well take a look.

The ride from the whale sharks center to the town where the waterfalls' located took about 30 minutes. We were welcomed by a vendor who offered to cook 2 huge squids for us for Php 300.00. A really great deal! So yes, we told the lady that we were going to take it once we get back from the waterfall adventure.

Our guide, Jai-Ho, was very welcoming and gave us a brief description of the falls and the do's and don't upon our ascend. We were told that there will be 5 levels, and she informed us of the difficulties of each level. We were really excited to see what the falls has to offer and I would like to know why it wasn't frequently visited by tourists. So it begins.

Level 1

Walking towards level 2

Level 2... You have no choice but to climb. Don't worry, you will be assisted by your guide.

Be careful. :)

Level 3... Photo op.. and rest for a while.

On top of level 3.

Level 4... This is where you dive. LOL. Not really, it's your option if you want to jump off or you can just watch people jump from it.

Our turn to jump at level 4

Her jump was the cleanest shot we have. Our jumps where all either blurry or... well, Too hilarious. And I don't want to post it. LOL

Good job girl! *** she cried after that plunge. :)

Level 4, photo op.

And finally Level 5.

It took us about an hour to get to the last leg of the Aguinid Falls adventure. What's my verdict? It was AWESOME! I really thought it was going to be a boring waterfall hike, but NO! It was exciting and at the same time a great exercise for us bummies. Glad we took advantage of this trip!

Tips:

* Bring drinking water

* Don't bring a DSLR camera or any gadget that is not water proof/resistant, because expect to get all wet during the hike. Or you can bring light weight waterproof bags to protect your gadgets and other personal stuff

* Wear protective footwear (but you'll have to remove it at some REALLY slippery parts of the climb)

* Wear clothing or swim attire that's comfy and will help you move freely. You are going to really stretch your legs at most parts.
